Farabeuf Forceps are not primarily designed for delicate soft tissue handling they are specialized orthopedic instruments. Farabeuf Forceps are used in holding bones during an open reduction of a fracture, and the multiple teeth in the head of the instrument allow better grasping of bone fragments.

Farabeuf Bone Holding Forceps are designed for clamping and holding fractured bone fragments to reposition them in normal alignment, and feature a plier-style handle for maximum control, toothed jaws for optimal clamping, and a detachable shank for controlling the aperture of the jaws with teeth-like extensions providing an enhanced ability to grip and maintain contact with the bone.

Immediately after use, rinse instruments under warm not hot water and use a nylon toothbrush to clean out lock boxes, joints, and springs, removing all blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. Use only neutral pH (7) detergents, as low pH detergents break down the protective stainless surface causing black staining, while high pH detergents cause brown surface deposits that interfere with smooth operation.

Farabeuf Forceps from GerMedUSA are available in two sizes 9" overall length with an adjustable jaw without ratchet, and 10" overall length with an adjustable jaw without ratchet both well-suited for a wide range of orthopedic surgical approaches.

Farabeuf Forceps feature a plier-style handle designed for maximum control, allowing the surgeon to use a firm palm grip similar to holding a pair of pliers, which provides the necessary leverage and strength for gripping and repositioning heavy bone fragments.
